Menschenblut

1986

Voice and piano. Text: Baroque poet Johannes Rist

UA: 10/5/1987, Houston, U.S.A., Lieuwe Visser, Bass; Robert Nasveld, piano

MENSCHENBLUT (Human Blood, on a text by the German baroque poet Johannes Rist, 1607–1667) has been composed for a US-tour of Lieuwe Visser.

The impetuous anti-war poem seemed perfect to me for the American listeners. This song is dedicated to Marjo Tal.
